St Thomas has two huge marinas worth noting.
Redhook
Marina, on the Eastern end of the Island, as well as the newly extended and up
graded Crown Bay Marina. The Crown Bay Marina has ninety nine fully serviced wet
slips and ten berths for mega yachts and has the best marina facilities in the
Virgin Islands. The Crown Bay Marina is conveniently located just ten minutes
from the
International
airport on St Thomas. Regular ferry
services depart from Charlotte Amalie as well as Redhook, to the islands of St
John, St Croix, Tortola and a few of the other Virgin Islands, making St Thomas
a hub
for entry and exit to and from the US and British Virgin Island archipelagos.

Who was the
inspiration for such a sick fairy tale? Well, I researched it and came up
with Gilles de Rais is believed to be the inspiration for the 1697 fairy tale
"Bluebeard" by Charles Perrault.
In 1434/1435, he retired from military life, depleted
his wealth by staging an extravagant theatrical spectacle of his own
composition and dabbled in the occult. After 1432 Gilles engaged in a series of
child murders, his victims possibly numbering in the hundreds. The killings
came to an end in 1440 when a violent dispute with a priest led to an
ecclesiastical investigation which brought Gilles' crimes to light. At his
trial the parents of missing children in the surrounding area and Gilles' own
confederates in crime testified against him. Gilles was condemned to death and
hanged at Nantes on 26 October
1440.
Cannibals?
The Arawaks lived peacefully on St. Thomas, fishing and farming, until the fierce and cannibalistic Carib Indians moved into the area about 100 years before the arrival of Columbus.
